A Saasveld & FITC trained Wood Technologist who also fell in love with steel engineering, MacDonald's career has seen him work deep in the mountainous timber plantations of the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe, to the flat pine plantations of the Zambian Copper belt, passing through the Nkalango of Malawi's Northern plantations, eventually landing in the timber truss factories and roof truss design offices in South Africa.
He was exposed to light weight steel engineering during his nearly decade long stint with MiTek, and a passion was ignited. MacDonald's aim is to ensure he makes a lasting impact on communities he operates in, and this is a foundational principle of Roof Brands.
